Brilliant products and works extremely well

The unit arrived quickly and now its installed is working well.

Bad things There is a design flaw - the ballast is about 5 metres away from the sealed connection at the filter and that makes it difficult to protect the cable and ballast - it will not fit in a 50mm pipe, certainly not a conduit, and I actually split a conduit to get the cable in. The ballast is IP4, so cannot be placed directly on permanently damp surfaces, so this has to sit in a box or a piece of 100mm waste pipe. The hose tails are all straight but we needed at least one to be angled, so bought a 40mm elbow. However, the levers on the switching system are VERY close to the thread where the tails attach, indeed it actually rubs on the plastic as you screw them up. This makes it difficult to get enough traction to prevent leaks. The viewing window had popped out when our unit was delivered, and it took a lot of fiddling with a Stanley knife to trim the plastic so the lugs would actually work - the poor moulding prevented the window from latching properly. The supplied pipe (25mm) is quite small for the volume of water. We already had 40mm pipe and I would recommend anything bigger than 25mm Good things This is a very good combination, well matched and competent. The shape of the filter is good for partial burying. The pump housing opens and closes easily and the pump itself is held in by design rather than multiple screws The pump is incredibly efficient, and handles dirty water well. The closure between the head and body of the filter is very close and there are no leaks. It is also easy to undo and take apart. Altogether this is not quite 5 stars due to the faults.

Only opened the boxes sofar and all looks good.
