Step 1: Select the Location

  1. Choose a location that receives partial sunlight to prevent excessive algae growth.
  2. Ensure the ground is level and clear of roots, rocks, and other debris.

Step 2: Mark and Excavate

  1. Place the plastic reservoir on the ground and mark its outline with string or chalk.
  2. Dig a hole slightly larger than the reservoir’s dimensions.
  3. Add a 2-inch layer of sand or fine gravel to the base of the hole for stability and leveling.

Step 3: Position the Reservoir

  1. Place the reservoir in the hole and check that it sits level using a spirit level.
  2. Backfill around the edges with soil to secure it, tamping down gently to eliminate air pockets.

Step 4: Install the Pump

  1. Position the pond pump at the center of the reservoir.
  2. Ensure the power cord can safely reach an outdoor electrical outlet.

Step 5: Add Pebbles and Water

  1. Rinse the pebbles thoroughly to remove dust and debris.
  2. Place the pebbles gently at the bottom of the reservoir, covering the pump but leaving access for maintenance.
  3. Fill the reservoir with water, ensuring the pump is fully submerged.

Step 6: Test the Pump

  1. Connect the pump to mains power and test the water flow.
  2. Adjust the fountain attachment or tubing as needed to achieve your desired effect.

Step 7: Decorate and Finish

  1. Add more pebbles or decorative stones around the edge of the reservoir for a natural look.
  2. Install edging materials to conceal the reservoir’s rim.
  3. Place aquatic plants or potted plants around the pond to enhance its appearance.
  4. Consider adding LED lights for nighttime ambiance.

Maintenance Tips

  • Clean the pump regularly to ensure proper water flow.
  • Remove debris, such as leaves, from the pond surface to keep the water clear.
  • Refill the pond as needed to compensate for evaporation.

Enjoy your new pebble pond and the soothing sound of flowing water!
